RAMEN SORA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

New Ramen shop in Las Vegas AGAIN!?

So why is it that every time a new ramen joint opens it’s betters than its competitors?

The prices are much lower than any other ramen themed restaurants around town.

Flavors go from the basic Miso, Shoyu, and Tonkatsu. Then it goes from various other spin off flavors to spicy Miso and what not.

There’s sizes go from regular, large (extra $1), super size (extra $2). Trust me though the super size is ridiculously HUGE!

I ended up getting the Miso regular size.

& I got to go with some good friends.

Sorry I haven’t been on awhile

been sorta broke… hard to do a food review blog if your broke right? hahaha but I need help so if any of you guys have a place that you’ve always wanted to go to, but weren’t too sure of it then PUT IT IN MY ASK BOX and i will go there and try it out.

SUNDAI

This restaurant is located on jones and flamingo…( in the smiths plaza )  i think? haha but its a local asian spot a few miles away from the palms casino… They don’t just serve korean food though.. they do serve japanese and hawaiin dishes…

But I ended up just getting korean food because I was feeling tofu soup… & !!!!! spicy chicken :]

Kimchi Tofu Soup: assorted vegetables, tofu, and an egg.

Spicy Chicken: I wouldn’t recommend if you can’t handle spicy food, but

if you can then this is pretty good for the price.

the price range for this place is $$ out of $$$$… which is pretty decent for a Korean place.

sorry that this review isn’t much of a review… New Year, and im tired as smuck.

Nothing wrong with BIG WONGS

ruffles.. i had to!

This place is pretty simple, and a tad bit over shadowed because of the surrounding restaurants (i.e. Raku & Monta ) but because of the low prices I think its REALLY worth the trip to go there instead of the other two.

Their beef ramen is only $5.95 and the broth isn’t as greasy as I thought would since the broth is BEEF… but heres a photo of it

Im not too sure what the cut but it reminds me of the same type of beef that they put in Taiwanese dishes. It was really tender & the portions were just crazy since most places skimp out on meat! trust me its well worth $5.95 when other places are charging almost over $10.

I got the pork ribs w/ rice and bachoy.

It came with 3 big hunks of ribs.. and you can tell they were cooked thoroughly because the meat just simply slides off the bone. Rice was ehh.. a tad bit hard for my taste, and the bachoy was pretty much there so you wouldn’t go into a meat overload.. but for under $9.00. it was worth it.

ALSO i got me some chicken wings.. and it reminded me off the asian chicken wings that I use to eat back when I lived in Brooklyn.

IF YOU LIKE SALT AND PEPPER PORK CHOP then there is no reason NOT TO TRY THIS OUT! hahaha around $6 with the tax… theres no reason not to order this… i command you! ;]

well thats it for now. i’ll probably get more of a chance to blog more often since school is done.. :]

Sorry that i’ve been laggin.

but heres a few reviews to look forward too… sundai, Big Wongs, and either raku or goyemon :] lol I haven’t been forgetting you guys… Just been way to preoccupied with some things. T-T lol and a tad bit broke… lol no one pays me to do these ya know! hahaha :] but thanks for following.

HONEY PIG REVIEW

Now im a BIG FAN of all you can eat korean bbq… and to be honest this place has to be one of my all time favorites. They have two types of AYCE (all you can eat ) meals.. ones for lunch, and the other is for dinner. Now I’ve never been there for lunch because well im not really trying to get that full in the middle of the day, BUT I have been there for dinner… & man… it is worth the price.

From 3-10 p.m. the price for AYCE is $20.00. A bit steep if you compare the competitions price along this SPRING MOUNTAIN ST. but for the quality of the meat that they serve I think they easily beat out there competition (i.e. tofu hut, woo che, sura bbq )

The service can be slow at times, but then again People who work in Korean restaurants usually work long hours, and at times it can get pretty packed. As long as the AYCE doesn’t have a time limit im pretty content with the service. Especially since it gives me time to rest between plates. haha I sound super fat don’t I? haha

well here goes photos for the food

It’s cooked on this type of grill

now im not too learned on what type of grill this is but it’s a tad bit different than the other kbbq’s I’ve been to. They grill the meat topside & and the juices flow down into a little trapper that they have at one side of the grill, but also at the rim of the grill is where they cook the bean sprouts and kim chi as so in this picture I have of our BRISKET being cooked

The quality of the Brisket was pretty good. I mean it wasn’t too tough even when it got a tad bit overcooked & it was pretty juicy even for it being thinly sliced.

Next we had PORK BELLY!!!!!! now some of you might think that this is just THICK BACON ( which it essentially is ) BUT for some reason its a borderline thinner pork cut, but with all that juicy goodness & melt in your mouth type of bacon feel. Then again… who isn’t a fan of bacon?

All in All I made my group order two of these suckers! haha & these barely had any rib bones in them ( as some places might have more than you think they would serve )

The next the I had is an all time favorite of noobie korean bbq eaters… BULGOGI which is always boss in my mind.

It was well marinated. given enough time to soak in the sauce into the meat… so you really get that sweet taste that comes from the sauce. The meat was really tender so it had this melt in your mouth  type of feel… now I know some days can be off & it’ll be a bit tough, but for the most part that I’ve been there it was really good quality.

& last bbq order we had was the SIRLOIN  now this item & another ( it escapes my mind ) are only 1 order per person… ( Although i think if you have lik 4-5 you can order more ) but this was okay. I mean I was expecting the meat to be tough because the price was pretty cheap for this cut of meat, but it was good… tender enough for me to chew but not melt in your mouth type of quality.

Now for 2.95 per bowl of rice you can get kimchi fried rice… * this was the reason why we ordered the sirloin bbq last* so we could ADD IT IN… WHATS UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Their kimchi fried rice consist of: kimchi(of course), bean sprouts, sesame oil, light salt, veggies, & whatever meats left on the grill. ( which we made sure was a lot ) & this is the result of that

I grew up with a couple of good korean friends… so they taught me not to load up on RICE & to enjoy the meat when you go for AYCE korean bbq… so I recommend the same to you! As i told my party who was with me not to bother with rice because we could have THIS at the end! haha & they all were ThankFul :] haha best for last right?

* I took photos of the meat while they were cooking so you could determine the quality yourself through my photos…:]

Thank you & keep eating folks!

reviewing Honey Pig

ALL YOU CAN EAT KOREAN BBQ for $20.00? lol no doubt I’ll be showing up my review in a day or two ;]

SOYO

hey whats up guys! sorry for the absence.. guess this week has just been weird for me i guess… lol I went to Soyo a couple days ago and just wanted to post what I had even though it wasn’t too expansive. Well here’s a couple photos of the decor for starts

a view from our booth. It’s pretty big for a barstaraunt & is pretty well fitted for a wide range of ages. Although after 11 p.m. it does become a full pledge bar!

broken Soju bottle caps hung in our booth ( which was pretty roomy I might add! ) they are trophies of past groups! hahaha or at least how I imagined it too be!

& this hung right on the side of the entrance. ( seems to be past employees? ) lol so the decor was pretty cute. NOW on too the food! lol

A little disappointed in myself though for this entry since I only went there to get ONE THING! haha its spicy rice cake with ramen in it!!!! sounds awesome doesn’t though? haha

not only rice cake & ramen, but it also has FISH CAKE ( I believe thats what it’s called.. anyways its awesome ) and a bunch of veggies to fill you up just right.

This place is a bar so these dishes are to be considered tapa’s type of dishes since it can be shared throughout the entire table! & it came at a reasonable price for being at a bar for only $10

My friend on the other hand got BiBimBap ( in a stone pot so you can totally hear the crackling of rice… and ohh is it so delicious when the rice gets crispy! )

anything is stone pot is awesome! lol the veggies are pretty fresh so it’s all good! lol you can usually tell the quality by the freshness of the veggies.. if it’s all brownish then I wouldn’t even bother eating it! lol

well thats it for now… sorry for the late response.. maybe next time ill blog about their alcohol !!!! beer is pretty standard though.. 3.5 for a glass… & a pretty extensive category of beers!!!!!! not just korean! lol

BACHI BURGER

I started off with a momotaro soda. ( one of their homemade soda’s)

it seemed to be a strawberry puree & what tasted like lemon lime soda.

MOMOTARO SODA

It had a bit of a cream soda/ fruit smoothie type of a feel with a hint of the lemon lime soda. It was nice for a change since im not a big fan of cream soda’s.

Since I’ve been there before I wanted to try something besides the burger so I decided to get the

OX TAIL FRIES

Now I’ve never had OX TAIL  before but this certainly made me a fan of it! They make their IN HOUSE CHILI with shreds of OX TAIL garnished with a somewhat sweet sauce and topped off with cilantro & jalapeno slices. The price is a little bit steep for fries but the helpings were more than enough to clear my uncertainties about this dish… it was HUGE hahah but the price for this was about $11.5

A friend of mine decided to get the BANH MI BURGER with a side of WHITE TRUFFLE FRIES. Which I do got to say looks VERY GOOD!

BANH MI BURGER w/ WHITE TRUFFLE FRIES

This burger consist of Angus beef, pork, shrimp, pork pate, lemon grass, fresh herbs, curry aioli, pickled veggies ( that you can add on ), and nuc nam sauce.

Jet@omic says: the pork&pork pate doesn’t over power the angus beef, but actually complements it.

Light salted fries with shreds of truffle on top. A bit pricey for my taste since the cone only gives it an illusion that it’s more than what it actually is.

My other friend decided to get the

KIKI BURGER

This burger consist of:

angus beef, sauteed shiitake mushrooms, enokie, eryngi mushrooms, caramelized bacon, sweet onion marmalade, and gruyere cheese.

Mark says: I can’t describe it… it’s just my favorite burger out of all of them. ( not much help from this guy huh? lol)

BUT ANYWAYS you can see these guys at these sites
